Role Description
Reporting to one of the Practice Directors, you will use your interest in technology to translate customers’ business strategy into target-state architecture. You will lead on advisory and pre-sales engagements, and work as part of a team to design and build innovate solutions, leading on the implementation and providing technical delivery capability.
Our client provide their customers with a broad set of solutions that encompass data modelling, integration, reporting and data warehousing. They partner with a number of technology providers and cloud systems, including Microsoft, Informatica and IBM. They are building a Microsoft Practice, and you will play an integral part in the next stage of growth and ultimately, leading a team on this journey. Projects will also require you to become an accredited specialist of the Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud, designing integrations and data solutions with Informatica at the heart of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-sales activities, such as designing and delivering workshops to pitch the future of Microsoft and Informatica solutions to customers
- Design and develop customer solutions for data integration, application integration, data quality, data governance and master data management
- Conduct requirements gathering workshops, and scoping and design sessions with customers
- Work with the Practice Director to build a pipeline of projects, and with Sales and Marketing to build offerings and supporting collateral
- Work with subject matter experts within customer organisations to understand and translate business processes into technical requirements and design documents
- Document complex solution architectures from concept through to deployment and customer handover
- Provide thought leadership on data processes and technologies, showing how these could improve customer solutions and internal processes
- Capability to lead and manage a team of consultants to create innovative and efficient solutions for customers whilst upholding their pledge to provide support and development to their people
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience architecting enterprise data solutions that integrate source systems through a mixture of API, operational data stores and data warehouses
- Data modelling experience for operational data stores and data warehouses
- Ability to design architecture and scalable patterns to support both batch and real-time solutions using data integration platforms such as Informatica
- Write clear technical documentation and present to technical team for knowledge handover and onboarding to projects
- Understanding of complete data analytics process, from source systems to BI and analytics tools
- BI and data exploration tools experience, such as Cognos and Microsoft Power BI
- Ability to collaborate with diverse customer and technical delivery teams, communicating technical concepts and design ideas clearly to team members
- Demonstratable experience of managing and developing teams
- Worked in a customer facing role
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Understanding of Information Security and Data Governance frameworks.
- Designed and implemented Data Quality, Governance or Master Data Management solutions
- Worked in house building, construction, insurance, retail or manufacturing sectors
- Experience with implementing solutions utilising microservices architectures
- Knowledge of DevOps methodology and the implementation of supporting technologies such as GIT
- Experience with hybrid-cloud infrastructure architecture including storage, compute, database, and networking
