ROLE DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Technician to play a key role in delivering high-quality technology installations on a variety of client projects. The Lead Technician will be responsible for installing and modifying complex systems, ensuring that all components, from displays to audio equipment, are installed to specification. This is a hands-on position, requiring coordination with project managers and site supervisors, and involves frequent travel. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in installation, system configuration, and equipment staging. You will be expected to work independently on job sites, with little supervision, making decisions in real-time to meet project goals and deadlines.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead installation of various technology systems (displays, projectors, audio equipment) at client sites.
- Interpret engineering drawings to ensure accurate system setup.
- Perform and test cabling terminations for optimal system performance.
- Mount and configure base equipment like monitors, speakers, and projectors.
- Stage and organize equipment racks, ensuring proper wiring and component management.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors, providing updates on project progress.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean job site.
- Manage tools, equipment, inventory, and track time worked on projects for accurate reporting.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in AV system installation (displays, projectors, audio equipment and more).
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and system diagrams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills for professional client interaction.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work away from home for extended periods.
DESIRABLE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with custom designs based on engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of project management processes and tools.
- Comfortable working in diverse environments, including construction sites and offices.
