They focus on delivering value from our client's data using innovative approaches that reduce risk and delivery time, and that they are constantly improving through R&D.
They are looking for a commercially driven, delivery-focused Director of Operations to lead the operational function through its next stage of growth — with the potential to evolve into the business’s first Chief Operating Officer (COO
ROLE DESCRIPTION
You’ll be accountable for delivering against forecast, scaling infrastructure, and driving cross-functional alignment across Sales, Talent, Finance, and Consulting. You’ll oversee everything outside of Sales and Consulting, with a mandate to create a high-performing, efficient, and scalable business engine.
This role combines hands-on execution with strategic oversight and is ideal for someone ready to grow into an enterprise-wide leadership role as the business scales toward £100M+ valuation.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Delivery & Operational Performance
- Own operational delivery against commercial forecasts across all accounts
- Lead on forecasting and reporting of delivery against forecasts
- Unblock delivery bottlenecks — onboarding, POs, SoWs, resourcing gaps
- Drive operational processes that enhance delivery performance, profitability, and client satisfaction
- Build repeatable operating rhythms that will form the backbone of a scalable delivery engine as they grow
2. People Leadership & Team Development
- Directly manage and mentor the Operations and Back Office team
- Conduct regular reviews and development planning
- Build team morale, structure, and performance culture
- Lead succession planning and capability development
- Lay the foundations for a future-ready ops team, with a clear structure, progression, and succession plan
3. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Own contract governance and documentation accuracy (SoWs, POs, Monday.com)
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, external audits, and security requirements
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as the central operations link across Sales, Talent, Finance, Marketing, and Consulting
- Ensure joined-up governance across teams and systems
- Support strategic client accounts on delivery reporting and coordination
- Maintain high standards for internal collaboration and responsiveness
- Operate as a peer to Sales, Finance and Consulting leadership, with a view to integrating operations into wider strategic planning
5. Systems, Processes & Infrastructure
- Oversee core operational platforms (Monday.com, Harvest, CRMs)
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, and tooling upgrades
- Ensure all delivery and support processes are scalable and documented
6. Ad-Hoc Strategic Responsibilities
- Support framework submissions and renewals (e.g. TS4, DOS7)
- Champion operational inputs into ESG and Social Value initiatives
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Senior operational experience in a scaling consultancy or services firm with turnover of >£20 million
- Proven success in driving delivery performance, forecasting, and cross-functional alignment
- Strong governance, compliance, and process improvement expertise
- Skilled in team leadership with a mentoring and development mindset
- Comfortable owning systems and working cross-functionally with C-suite stakeholders
- Ambitious and commercially minded, with the potential to grow into a broader COO role as the business scales
- Able to balance tactical delivery with strategic thinking, and comfortable transitioning into enterprise-level decision-making
