Role Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead, develop, and maintain a robust safety culture across our audio visual (AV) installation and technology project portfolio. The successful candidate will support delivery teams operating across the UK and Europe, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, managing risk across diverse environments, and embedding best practice within both site and corporate operations.
This role sits at the heart of our project delivery function, covering environments including:
Main Contractor office fit out projects
Stadiums and arenas
Music and entertainment venues
Large scale corporate workplaces and event spaces
Live event deployments and temporary installations
The successful individual will work closely with engineering, project delivery, warehousing, and onsite teams to ensure health and safety standards are maintained across all phases of project delivery. Role Responsibilities
Act as the company’s competent person for health and safety in line with UK and European regulations
Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety management systems, policies, and procedures
Support project mobilisation and delivery activities where the business operates as Principal Contractor under CDM regulations
Review and approve RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, Safe Systems of Work, and task specific risk assessments across the project portfolio
Conduct regular site inspections and audits across UK and European project locations, ensuring corrective actions are tracked and completed
Lead accident, incident, and near miss investigations using root cause analysis methodologies
Manage subcontractor health and safety compliance, including vetting, auditing, and ongoing performance monitoring
Deliver health and safety guidance, reporting, and training support to internal teams and senior stakeholders
Essential Skills & Experience
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification, with strong working knowledge of construction related health and safety practices
Proven experience managing health and safety within construction, technical installation, AV integration, or live event environments
Strong understanding of UK CDM Regulations, Health & Safety at Work Act, PUWER, LOLER, Working at Height, and manual handling legislation
Experience working across live construction sites, active venues, and fast paced project delivery environments
Ability to produce and review high quality RAMS and health and safety compliance documentation
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence teams at all levels
Experience supporting multi site or multi project delivery operations
Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe as required
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience within audio visual installation, broadcast, live events, or related technology sectors
IOSH membership such as TechIOSH or GradIOSH
Familiarity with European health and safety legislation and compliance standards
First Aid at Work or Mental Health First Aider qualification
Experience supporting continuous improvement programmes following audits or compliance reviews
Exposure to warehousing, logistics, or technical engineering operations
Ability to work independently while driving a collaborative and positive safety culture
Multilingual capability would be advantageous
