Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Revit/ Computer Aided Design (CAD) / Building Information Modelling (BIM) Engineer, who will be responsible for overseeing and performing Revit/CAD, producing drawings and documentation sets for the system standards and complex technology projects. This will include architectural details and related infrastructure information packages to convey system design intent to a wide variety of stakeholders.
The Revit/ CAD / BIM Engineer will work independently to coordinate all documentation with the Design Engineers on projects.
Role Responsibilities
Technical Drawing & Modelling: Prepares complex architectural AV infrastructure and detail drawings using Revit and AutoCAD, including elevations, floor plans, and reflected ceiling plans based on various sources like BOMs, sketches, and models.
Design Standards & Quality Control: Ensures drawings meet internal standards, manages version control, maintains drawing libraries, and upholds quality across CAD/Revit deliverables.
Collaboration & Coordination: Works directly with engineers, architects, and clients, participates in clash detection meetings, and provides technical input and coordination for AV systems integration.
Leadership & Mentorship: Guides junior drafters, leads teams on large projects, mentors staff to improve CAD skills, and drives consistency and standardisation company-wide.
BIM Development & Family Creation: Develops and maintains Revit families and libraries, contributes to centralised block libraries, and leads the development of BIM/CAD standards.
System Design & Engineering: Performs engineering activities for repetitive system designs, conceptualises AV systems, defines requirements, and develops high-level designs and schematics.
Project Planning & Reporting: Projects schedules, negotiates timelines and deliverables, and provides regular status updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Professional Development: Stays up to date with the latest Revit and AutoCAD techniques through ongoing training and education.
Essential Criteria
High Proficiency in BIM is required
Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office 365
Proven experience in a similar role
ISO 19650 Qualification preferred
AVIXA CTS preferred
Desirable Criteria
Well-developed sense of urgency and ability to function in a fast-paced environment, delivering drawings with speed and accuracy.
Fluent in use of Revit and AutoCAD - all current versions
Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work well with others remotely via video and audio conferencing
High level of attention to detail
