Role Description
Our client is seeking a proactive and highly organised Sales Admin and Business Development Executive to join their UK team. This is a commercially focused, office based role designed to support business growth through structured lead management, CRM ownership, market research and international sales support.
The role sits within the Sales function, working closely with Sales and Marketing and Technical teams to ensure opportunities are effectively captured, tracked and progressed. The position also plays an important role in supporting exhibitions and events across the UK and Europe, as well as providing sales support when external sales personnel are travelling.

Business Development & CRM ownership
Marketing and exhibition support
Internal sales admin support
Role Responsibilities
Business Development and CRM Ownership
Capture, assign and monitor incoming leads, ensuring timely follow up by the relevant sales teams.
Maintain accurate and up to date CRM records using NetSuite or a similar system.
Track sample requests, monitor follow up activity and highlight overdue actions.
Leverage successful sample or application outcomes to identify additional prospect organisations within similar market segments.
Conduct market research to identify target companies in niche markets and build targeted prospect lists for the sales team and distribution network.
Process incoming exhibition leads, ensuring tasks are assigned and appropriate follow up actions are completed.
Provide regular reporting on lead activity, sample progress and pipeline status.
Marketing and Event Support
Assist with the planning, organisation and logistics of exhibitions and events across the UK and Europe.
Support exhibition activities, including assisting with stand setup and attendance where required.
Ensure leads generated from exhibitions are uploaded promptly to the CRM and assigned to the appropriate sales contacts.
Track and monitor follow up actions and progress of exhibition generated leads.
Sales Support
Provide backup support to sales territories when sales personnel are travelling or unavailable.
Handle incoming enquiries and leads to ensure timely responses.
Prepare basic quotations, manage sample requests and support account activities where required.
Liaise with customer service teams and the technical department to ensure customer queries are addressed effectively.
Provide clear briefings and updates to sales engineers upon their return to ensure continuity of customer engagement.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in Business Development, Inside Sales, Sales Support or a similar commercial support role.
Experience using CRM systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce or similar platforms.
Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience conducting industry research and building targeted prospect lists.
Ability to track and manage opportunities and follow up actions within a CRM system.
Confident communicator with strong relationship building skills.
Proactive, self motivated and commercially aware.
Comfortable coordinating with sales teams to ensure timely follow up and progression of opportunities.
Strong IT skills.
Minimum two years of relevant experience working with CRM systems or in a business development environment.
Full driving licence.
Higher education including A Levels or equivalent.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience within manufacturing or technical product environments
Experience supporting international sales teams.
Experience organising or supporting exhibitions and trade shows.
